The President and his Vice, Prof Yemi Osinbajo have been staying and operating from the Defence House in Abuja. The Ogun State Police Command has arrested an unemployed man, Ishau Arowolo, for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl, Sofiatu Akilolu, to death in Orisada-Eyo Community in the Yewa South Local Government Area of the state. 25-year-old Arowolo, after raping the girl, allegedly caused her to drown. It was said that the suspect lurked in a bush near the community river to perpetrate the act. According to Punch Metro, Sofiatu, who was a Basic five pupil of the Local Government Authority Primary School, had been sent by her parents to a river in the area to fetch water when she was attacked and raped by Arowolo. Sofiatu, at about 5pm on Wednesday, April 1, went to the stream in company with a friend, identified simply as Abibatu. It was gathered that Arowolo snatched the victim and took her under a tree, where he raped her. According to a story sent from Akwa Ibom, a 19 year old boy named Daniel Michael Edet, (pictured right) a student from Idoro in Uyo LGA, killed his aunt, Glory Edet Ebere, 44 (left). The boy used to live with his aunt but one day left her home unceremoniously. For months the aunty didn’t hear from him but on June 11th, he showed up at her house and said he wanted to return home. The woman who lived alone told him he was no more welcomed in her house, that he should go back to wherever he was coming from. Daniel then asked for money to go back and the aunt said she had no money to give him. A quarrel ensued and Daniel attacked his aunt. He stabbed her multiple times, killing her. He then stole her car keys, locked her corpse inside the house and left. Later Daniel returned to the home with his friend, one Ekemini Effiong James (pictured above) and together they dragged the corpse of Glory Ebere into the bedroom. Policemen attached to the Owutu Police station have charged a middle age man, Ajisafe Solomon and his sister Ajayi Ayomide before an Ikorodu Magistrate court over allegation of wife battering and sodomy. The accused were arraigned on a three count charge bordering on inflicting bodily harm and conspiracy to commit sodomy. According to the police, the accused conspired and inflicted grave bodily harm on Solomon’s wife Opeyemi Amuda 25 by inserting a bottle of Turbor beer and pepper in the victim’s vagina which made her to run mad. The charge further read that the accused used cane to inflict severe cut on the victim’s body thereby committing assault which contravenes Section 409 of Lagos State. Amuda has since gone nuts following the severe beating she received from her husband and her sister in-law. The man identified as Najim Bakare said he started selling guns to make ends meet. He was in Lagos alongside three others involved in cult activities. The co-suspects, Adewale Odusote, TairuTairu Idris and Dare Ayetoba, were arrested for allegedly causing trouble in the Mobil Road area of Ajah, Lagos. Scientists in Sweden are set to launch a mead,  based on old recipes, which they say could help in the fight against antibiotic resistance. A mead is an alcoholic beverage made from a fermented mix of honey and water. Called the Honey Hunter's Elixir, the scientists who teamed up  with a brewery have long studied bees and their honey, and said that mead had a long track record in bringing positive effects on health. According to Lund University researcher Tobias Olofsson, a mead was regarded as the drink of the gods which was believed to provide immortality and good health, adding that it was drunk by the Vikings. In previous research published in 2014, Olofsson and Alejandra Vasquez discovered that lactic acid bacteria found in the honey stomach of bees, mixed with honey itself, could cure chronic wounds in horses that had proved resistant to treatment. A devastating flood that hit Tbilisi, Georgia capital  (a country at the intersection of Europe and Asia) today, June 14, has led wild animals - lions, tigers, bear, jaguars, wolves among others out of their enclosure. The flood, which occurred after a river burst its banks following hours of torrential rain, hit the zoo, leaving eight people and several animals dead. Reports say the animals which are still alive are currently roaming the streets. Officials say some have been captured while some of the more dangerous ones are being shot dead by security forces.
