APC youths besiege Aso Rock to see Buhari

Hundreds of youths, suspected to be members of the All Progressives Congress, on Friday laid siege to the Presidential Villa, Abuja, in their desperate bid to have an audience with President Muhammadu Buhari.

The youths, who were seen brandishing APC banners and brooms, the party’s symbol, moved to the Supreme Court Gate of the Villa straight from the Eagles Square, where Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo were inaugurated earlier in the day.

They had earlier succeeded in overwhelming the security cordon mounted on major roads leading to Eagle Square during the inauguration.

But their attempts to gain access into the Presidential Villa were resisted by security operatives at the gate.

The security operatives succeeded in pushing back the youths.

They however refused to leave the vicinity.

They gathered on a bridge in front of the gate and were chanting solidarity songs.

The youths were still standing under the scorching sun on the bridge at the time of filing this report while stern-looking security operatives mounted watch.

Sale of dried meat banned in Maiduguri
