Chief Inengite Nitabai, a 72-year-old who has been acting as the ex-President's father figure since the death of his biological father, is alleged to have been taken from his residence in the early hours of the morning by seven armed men.
According to a security source who spoke on condition of anonymity, the gunmen gained access to Nitabai's residence through creek close to his house.
Asinim Butswat, PR Officer for the Bayelsa State Command, confirmed the development, revealing that an investigation is underway into the matter.
Nitabai was abducted two years ago and held captive for three weeks before gaining freedom.
