House summons Amaechi, others over N1trn rail contracts scam

Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, Managing Director of Nigeria Railway Corporation, NRC, Seyi Sijuwade; former Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr Mohammed Bello Haliru; and former Minister of Transport, Idris Umar, over the alleged N1 trillion rail contracts scam, According to Vanguard reports.

The adhoc committee of the House of Representatives on failed rail contracts headed by Ehoizuwa Johnson Agbonayinma, PDP, Ikpoba/Oha Federal Constituency said the public officials are expected to be appear before the committee on Monday.
Agbonayinma while explaining the invitation of the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi who is barely three months in office, said he was also invited to explain to the committee all he knows about the scandal.
He said the committee is not witch-hunting any personality while pledging their full support to the anti-graft war of President Muhammadu Buhari.
