Pro-Biafra group warned over carrying firearms

The Inspector-General of Police,Solomon Arase, has sent out a stern warning to members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) against the possession of firearms.
According to a statement released by Police Force Spokesperson Olabisi Kolawole, all zonal Assistant Inspector Generals and Police Commissioners have been ordered to take action against the use of illegal firearms.

IPOB members have been warned to make use of "appropriate avenues" to air their grievances or face the wrath of the law.
The directive follows a decision taken by the group, which is led by Nnamdi Kanu, to bear arms as a means of protection against excessive police brutality.
Despite numerous calls for peaceful protest action, the group announced that their plan would be implemented as of Wednesday, February 17.

Sale of dried meat banned in Maiduguri
